
Acupuncture is a medical
technique developed over 5,000 years ago that involves the insertion
of very fine, sterile needles to treat a myriad of disorders
including: pain depression anxiety, allergies, fatigue, migraines,
immune deficiency, gastrointestinal disorders, menopausal
discomfort, stroke, paralysis, and many other disorders.
Pulse
Diagnosis is a fundamental diagnostic tool in
Oriental Medicine. The practitioner checks for variations in twelve
different pulses, six on each wrist.
Acupressure
stimulates the acupuncture points with massage rather than
using acupuncture needles.
Moxibustion involves burning an
herb called Mugwort to warm the acupuncture needles. This procedure
may also be used to warm the acupoint on children without inserting
needles.
Cupping and
Guasha utilize vacuum and a scraping technique,
respectively, to break up the lactic acid surrounding tight
muscles.
Qi

Stimulation involves the application of
